Crosscutting Resources

This page provides access to resources that are crosscutting in nature, providing data for several areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. We provide these resources for state- and local-level energy analysts, officials, and decision makers who are interested in requesting help from the Technical Assistance Project.

  • EERE's State-Specific Information

Provides access to information on EERE-sponsored projects in various states, EERE's cooperative state projects and grants, breaking news about state involvement in energy projects, state energy statistics, state maps of renewable energy resources, case studies and state publications, state energy office links, and state weatherization contacts.

  • EERE State Publications Database

Provides access to the DOE State Energy Program's database of state publications about renewable energy and energy efficiency, organized by state and energy topic.

  • EPA's Clean Energy-Environment Tools and Resources Compendium

Helps state officials plan for and evaluate clean energy policies and programs. The models, calculators, and guidance developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) help states understand, quantify, and communicate the energy, environmental, and economic benefits of these approaches.

  • Power Technologies Energy Data Book

Contains a wide selection of data and statistics on renewable energy power technologies from a variety of sources, collected in one convenient document by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Technologies represented include solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and hydroelectric.

  • EERE's Analysis Database

Provides a starting point for accessing key market, policy, technology, and program analysis and data through an easy-to-navigate system. Key resources are hand-picked for their usefulness and categorized by program/technology and type of resource. This database contains energy data, documents, databases, maps, models, presentation slides, energy conversions, and online resources.

  • EERE State Activities and Partnerships

Provides case studies and publications, state energy statistics, news about state involvement in energy projects, and links to state energy offices.

  • Energy Information Administration's State Energy Profiles

Provides an overview of energy resources and infrastructure found in each state.

  • NREL's Energy Analysis Models and Tools

Provides links to models and tools that analyze issues ranging from life cycles, to vehicle systems, to online renewable energy analysis applications. The information is compiled by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

  • EIA Renewable and Alternative Fuels Statistics

Provides energy statistics, reports, analyses, and forecasts for U.S. renewable energy and alternative fuels production and consumption. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) numbers are official energy statistics from the U.S. government.

  • RETScreen Clean Energy Project Analysis Software

Evaluates the energy production and savings, costs, emission reductions, financial viability, and risk for various types of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies.

  • ENERGY STAR for Government

Provides resources for local and state governments relating to ENERGY STAR, a joint program of the EPA and DOE that promotes energy efficient products and practices.

  • Clean Energy Resources Database for Governments

Provides access to a searchable database that contains references to Web pages and other documents that can assist local governments with clean energy initiatives.
