Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants

Over $2.6 billion in formula grants are now available to states, U.S. territories, local governments and Indian tribes under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) Program. Federal grants may be used to reduce energy use and fossil fuel emissions, and for improvements in energy efficiency. The EECBG Program is administered by the Office of Weatherization and Intergovernmental Programs in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

    DOE issued a request for information that is open from September 14–28, 2009, about the upcoming funding opportunity announcement (FOA) for approximately $454 million of competitive grants under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. DOE is requesting feedback from EECBG stakeholders on topics of interest for the FOA.
