American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
Technical Assistance

This page explains how to apply for technical assistance with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) projects that are funded under either the State Energy Program (SEP) or Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program.

Staff at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and its national laboratories can provide assistance to states, counties, municipalities, U.S. territories and tribal governments with technical aspects of ARRA projects, strategies, policies, and programs.

Technical assistance includes help developing or reviewing an energy strategy (e.g., how to develop the metrics that are required for reporting on the success of the strategy), or help with a specific technology or detailed program plan.

The forms on this page are in Adobe Acrobat format and can be filled out using the free Adobe Reader software. Download Adobe Reader.

How to Apply for Assistance with SEP-funded ARRA Projects

To apply, first fill out the SEP Technical Assistance Request form (PDF 351 KB) as completely as possible. Then save it to your computer. Next, e-mail the completed form to TA@nrel.gov.

You will then be contacted by a technology specialist from DOE.

How to Apply for Assistance with EECBG-funded ARRA Projects

To apply, first fill out the EECBG Technical Assistance Request form (PDF 385 KB) as completely as possible. Then save it to your computer. Next, e-mail the completed form to TA@nrel.gov.

You will then be contacted by a technology specialist from DOE.

If you have questions about this program or need help with the process of applying for an EECBG grant, do not complete either of these forms. Instead, visit the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program Web site.

If you represent a tribal government that is seeking technical assistance, please visit the Tribal Energy Program's Technical Assistance Web page.
