Tennessee Weatherization and Low-Income Energy Programs

Tennessee Weatherization

Tennessee's Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is administered through contracts with an established network of 18 non-profit agencies and local governments experienced in providing weatherization services. WAP services are available in all 95 counties. Applicants must meet low-income eligibility guidelines based on established federal poverty guidelines. Activities include insulation, storm windows, caulking, and other related activities to reduce home energy costs and increase home energy efficiency.

Energy and Low-Income Heating Assistance (LIHEAP) in Tennessee

Complete List of Tennessee's Low-Income Energy Programs

The National Energy Accessibility and Affordability Project (NEAAP) publishes a complete list of the programs available to low-income households in the state, including those funded by federal and state governments, Tennessee utilities, and charities. NEAAP publishes this list as part of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse, which is maintained on the National Center for Appropriate Technology Web site and receives support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The list also includes LIHEAP contacts in Tennessee. Under federal rules, Tennessee can use up to 25% of its LIHEAP funds for weatherization.

State Energy Assistance Programs
