South Carolina Weatherization and Low-Income Energy Programs

South Carolina Weatherization

South Carolina's Weatherization Assistance Program provides weatherization and energy conservation services at no cost to low-income households. The Weatherization Assistance Program reduces household energy use and costs by improving the energy efficiency of a participant's home.

The South Carolina Office of Economic Opportunity administers the statewide Weatherization Assistance Program, and local Community Action Agencies deliver weatherization services in the field. For more information, call the state Weatherization Office at 803-734-9861.

Complete List of South Carolina's Low-Income Energy Programs

The National Energy Accessibility and Affordability Project (NEAAP) publishes a complete list of the programs available to low-income households in the state, including those funded by federal and state governments, South Carolina utilities, and charities. NEAAP publishes this list as part of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse, which is maintained on the National Center for Appropriate Technology Web site and receives support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The list also includes LIHEAP contacts in South Carolina. Under federal rules, South Carolina can use up to 25% of its LIHEAP funds for weatherization.
