New Hampshire Weatherization and Low-Income Energy Programs
New Hampshire Weatherization
New Hampshire's Office of Energy and Planning (OEP) manages the Weatherization Assistance Program for the state. OEP provides weatherization services to low-income persons throughout the state to reduce household energy use and costs by improving the energy efficiency of a participant's home. OEP is responsible for the statewide oversight of the program and subcontracts with New Hampshire's Community Action Agencies, which deliver weatherization services at the local level.

Complete List of New Hampshire's Low-Income Energy Programs
The National Energy Accessibility and Affordability Project (NEAAP) publishes a complete list of the programs available to low-income households in the state, including those funded by federal and state governments, New Hampshire utilities, and charities. NEAAP publishes this list as part of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse, which is maintained on the National Center for Appropriate Technology Web site and receives support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The list also includes LIHEAP contacts in New Hampshire. Under federal rules, New Hampshire can use up to 25% of its LIHEAP funds for weatherization.
State Energy Assistance Programs
- The statewide Electric Assistance Program (EAP) provides income-eligible customers with discounts on their electric bills. Eligibility and the level of discount depend on the customer's utility, level of income, and whether the home uses electric heat. The discounts are intended to bring the customer's annual electric bill to approximately 4% of annual income (6% for customers with electric heat).
