North Dakota Weatherization
North Dakota's Weatherization Assistance Program provides weatherization services to low-income persons throughout the state. The Weatherization Assistance Program reduces household energy use and costs by improving the energy efficiency of a participant's home.
The North Dakota Division of Community Services administers the statewide Weatherization Assistance Program, and local Community Action Agencies deliver weatherization services in the field. For more information, call the state Weatherization Office at 701-328-5300.

Complete List of North Dakota's Low-Income Energy Programs
The National Energy Accessibility and Affordability Project (NEAAP) publishes a complete list of the programs available to low-income households in the state, including those funded by federal and state governments, North Dakota utilities, and charities. NEAAP publishes this list as part of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse, which is maintained on the National Center for Appropriate Technology Web site and receives support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The list also includes LIHEAP contacts in North Dakota. Under federal rules, North Dakota can use up to 25% of its LIHEAP funds for weatherization.
State Energy Assistance Programs
- Energy Share
Energy Share funds may pay for service charges, reconnection fees, or security lights. It is a statewide, private fuel fund corporation funded by private donations, utility companies across North Dakota, and LIHEAP. Energy Share is administered by local Community Action Agencies. For more information, call 1-800-321-5943. - Residential Energy Efficiency Program
An energy education specialist visits each household and conducts a one-on-one interview with the client concerning their energy use and concerns. This educational program gives individuals and families the knowledge to use energy efficiently, improve their indoor comfort, and make them aware of how their behavior affects energy consumption, energy cost, health, and safety within their home. Call 701-328-5300 for more information. - LIHEAP Furnace Repair & Replacement Program
The goal of the Furnace Repair & Replacement Program is to increase the energy efficiency of heating systems in good working condition and replace those heating systems that are inoperable or pose a threat to the health and safety of the client. Call 701-328-5300 for more information.
