Missouri Weatherization and Low-Income Energy Programs

Missouri Weatherization

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Energy Center administers the DOE-funded Weatherization Assistance Program for the state. Weatherization reduces energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes, while ensuring their health and safety. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources administers the program and 18 local agencies deliver weatherization services.

Complete List of Missouri's Low-Income Energy Programs

The National Energy Accessibility and Affordability Project (NEAAP) publishes a complete list of the programs available to low-income households in the state, including those funded by federal and state governments, Missouri utilities, and charities. NEAAP publishes this list as part of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse, which is maintained on the National Center for Appropriate Technology Web site and receives support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The list also includes LIHEAP contacts in Missouri. Under federal rules, Missouri can use up to 25% of its LIHEAP funds for weatherization.

State Energy Assistance Programs

  • Community Services League
    The Community Services League offers assistance to qualified people, including senior citizens, who want to make such home improvements as adding weather stripping around doors and windows, adding insulation, etc. For more information, call the Community Services League at 816-254-4100.
