Indiana Weatherization and Low-Income Energy Programs

Indiana Weatherization

Indiana's Family and Social Services Administration administers the DOE-funded Weatherization Assistance Program for the state. This program provides residential energy conservation services to the low-income citizens of Indiana. Program funding is allocated to Community Action Agencies (CAA) to provide comprehensive energy conservation services in each of Indiana's 92 counties. A thorough evaluation of the structure, including the safe and efficient operation of the furnace and water heater, is included in the treatment of each home.

Energy and Low-Income Heating Assistance (LIHEAP) in Indiana

Complete List of Indiana's Low-Income Energy Programs

The National Energy Accessibility and Affordability Project (NEAAP) publishes a complete list of the programs available to low-income households in the state, including those funded by federal and state governments, Indiana utilities, and charities. NEAAP publishes this list as part of the LIHEAP Clearinghouse, which is maintained on the National Center for Appropriate Technology Web site and receives support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The list also includes LIHEAP contacts in Indiana. Under federal rules, Indiana can use up to 25% of its LIHEAP funds for weatherization.
