Georgia Weatherization and Low-Income Energy Programs
Georgia Weatherization
Georgia Home Weatherization Assistance Program
The Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) administers the Weatherization Program in the state. Crews replace broken windows, caulk and weather-strip door and window frames, install storm windows, insulate attics, and perform other energy saving repairs on the homes of elderly, disabled, and low-income Georgians. The result is a more comfortable home and lower energy bills.
| Total number of households receiving assistance in 2006 | 1,339 |
|---|---|
| Percent elderly | 41% |
| Percent with children | 9% |
| Percent with disabilities | 12% |
