Federal Regulations Dealing With Weatherization

DOE's Weatherization Assistance Program publishes federal rules governing administration for the states and weatherization agencies online at the Weatherization Assistance Program Technical Assistance Center (WAPTAC). Among others, these include cost principles that apply to nonprofit agencies receiving federal funding and other rules governing use of funds, etc.

The Weatherization Assistance Program Technical Assistance Center (WAPTAC) publishes an archive and online a list of all Weatherization Program rules and guidance documents.

• Code of Federal Regulations Title 10, Part 440

  WAPTAC publishes the federal law authorizing the Weatherization Assistance Program under DOE, which is in effect since December 8, 2002.

  The financial assistance rules for the U.S. Department of Energy; published by the Government Printing Office.

• OMB Circulars and Forms

  The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) publishes several guidance documents and forms necessary for states and nonprofit agencies to receive federal funding. These guidelines are especially important for nonprofit organizations since they carry out most of the work in the homes. These (OMB) documents are available online from WAPTAC:
