Community and Project Development Workshops

Here are presentations from national and regional trainings sponsored by the Tribal Energy Program to help tribal leaders and staff understand and capitalize on the range of energy efficiency and renewable energy opportunities that exist within their communities.

National Trainings: Renewable Energy for Tribal Community Development

Below are links to presentations given at national tribal community development workshops held in Anchorage, Alaska, in October 2012 and April 2014; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in August 2012 and Denver, Colorado, in June 2011.

Regional Trainings

The Tribal Energy Program has also cosponsored several regional trainings on tribal community and project development topics. The course material typically focuses on:

  • Determining community energy values and objectives
  • Developing the outline of a tribal strategic energy plan
  • Exploring how energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies can be used to help meet tribal objectives
  • Organizing for tribal community success.
