2012 Projects Funding History

In Fiscal Year 2011, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) solicited applications for financial assistance from federally recognized Native American tribes, Alaska Native villages, and Alaska Native corporations for renewable energy development and deployment in Indian Country.

Renewable Energy or Energy Efficiency Deployment in Indian Country

Under this solicitation, DOE sought applications for:

  1. Feasibility Study
  2. Development (Preconstruction) Activities
  3. Deployment (Construction) of Renewable Energy Power Projects

A total of 17 projects were selected and awarded in 2012 (13 feasibility studies, three development projects, and one deployment project). For a list of projects, see "2012" under projects by year. The DOE press release provides a brief summary of the 2012 awards.
