Project Description

The primary goal of this project is to move the energy vision of the Pawnee Nation forward by conducting specific data collection and analysis tasks to assess the viable options available to Pawnee to meet future energy needs sustainable. The strategic planning activities and energy options analysis will assist the Pawnee Nation in assessing energy resource development opportunities and their potential benefits as well as impacts on natural, human, and cultural resources. Recommendations will enable tribal leaders to make informed decisions regarding where future energy and economic development initiatives should be focused to meet tribal objectives — specifically, which feasibility studies, additional data collection, or staffing will be required to move development opportunities forward to the investment stage. Both energy opportunities and barriers to their development will be explored, and a Strategic Integrated Resource Plan (SIRP) will be developed to assist tribal decision makers as they prioritize resource utilization and investment options.
