Mississippi Plans its First Ethanol Production Facility

October 03, 2003

E.O.H. Energy LLC has announced plans to build a Mississippi's first ethanol production facility in Greenville. The site is in the Mississippi River Delta, a highly fertile agricultural area that is the main corn production region in the state and one of the largest in the South. The project is worth $58 million and represents the third largest industrial investment ever made in Greenville. It will bring more than 50 full-time jobs to the area. State officials hope to develop an ethanol industry, which can use the Mississippi waterway to inexpensively ship ethanol to markets.
