Geothermal Power Plant Starts Operation in Utah

The 25 megawatt Cove Fort geothermal power plant in Cove Fort, Utah, was completed on November 27. The facility, owned by Enel Cove Fort, is expected to avoid 115,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. A 20-year power purchase agreement for the energy produced was signed with the Salt River Project. See the Enel press release.
