California Launches Energy Efficiency Research Action Plan
August 29, 2013
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) on August 26 announced the launch of its Research and Technology Action Plan for energy efficiency. The Plan outlines strategies for research, development, and deployment of energy efficient technologies and approaches in support of the Big Bold Energy Efficiency Strategies outlined in California’s Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan.
The Research and Technology Action Plan, which was developed through stakeholder input, addresses these goals through identifying four key areas for initial focus: integrated building design; market intelligence and consumer acceptance; plug loads; and advanced HVAC technologies. The Research and Technology Action Plan outlines strategies to pursue under each of these areas. See the CPUC press release.
