Alaska Offers Geothermal Leases on Volcano Land

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources Division of Oil and Gas is offering state land located on the flanks of Mt. Augustine volcano off Homer, Alaska, for geothermal leasing. There will be 26 tracts in the area which encompasses 65,992 acres, including some tidelands and adjacent waters three miles off the island. Qualified applicants must file the required documents by May 3, 2013, and submit their competitive sealed bids for the 10-year leases by May 6.
