Florida Approves New Ethanol Production Facility

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) issued a construction permit to United States EnviroFuels, LLC, in Tampa for an ethanol production plant in nearby Port Sutton. The new facility will have the capacity to produce up to 50 million gallons of ethanol per year from grain and corn grown mostly in Florida. The facility will include grain unloading, storage, milling, fermentation, distillation, and drying. Grain will be delivered by rail or truck, and ethanol will be distributed by rail, truck, and barge. For more information, see the Florida DEP April 6 press release.
