Pennsylvania Energy Grants to Small Businesses

December 21, 2005

Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell announced the state awarded 45 energy grants to small business on December 20 worth a total of $275,000. The state issued the grants under the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Small Business Advantage Program that matches a company's investment (50%) in equipment that reduces energy consumption up to a maximum grant of $7,500.

Rendell began the Small Business Advantage in July 2004, which has since awarded $1 million to 400 small businesses in Pennsylvania. DEP also administers the State Energy Program (SEP) in Pennsylvania in addition to the Small Business Advantage Program.
