Florida Energy Office Now Has Hydrogen Fuel Cell for Backup Power

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) purchased 12 hydrogen fuel cells to provide backup power for emergency operations in DEP offices. Plug Power in Latham, New York, will supply DEP with its GenCore® fuel cells that are rated at 5 kilowatts (kW). DEP Deputy Secretary for Regulatory Programs and Energy Allan Bedwell said, "These state-of-the-art fuel cell systems use proven technologies to deliver reliable backup power in case of a service interruption."
