Minnesota Establishes Standards for Interconnecting Distributed Generation
The Minnesota Public Utility Commission (PUC) issued an order on September 28 to establish new interconnection standards for distributed power generators (DG) with rated capacities of 1 MW and smaller. The ruling defines DG and renewable energy (green) providers, lists technical requirements for their interconnection to the electricity grid, and provides a standard agreement between DG and electricity distribution utilities. The PUC also let stand a previous exemption from standby charges for DG systems smaller than 60 kW. Read the PUC order (PDF 1.32 MB). Download Acrobat Reader.
