Rhode Island Expands CNG Infrastructure

March 01, 2004

Clean Cities project officer Mike Scarpino of DOE's Boston Regional Office spoke at the dedication of Rhode Island's third state compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling facility. Financing for the project was provided by the Federal Highway Administration and the state's Department of Transportation, in the form of Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality funds; and by the New England Gas Company and State Fleet Operations. This new station can fuel 150 CNG vehicles per day.
