New Jersey Increases Solar Rebates

March 03, 2003

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved on March 3rd increases in the rebates it offers to customers who install solar electric (PV) systems. The rebates are provided through the state's Clean Energy Program.

Under the new plan, New Jersey will reimburse residential and commercial customers for up to 70% of the cost of installing a new PV system with a rated capacity of less than 10 kW. Systems with capacities between 10 kW and 1000 kW are eligible for rebates totaling up to 60%. The new rebates represent an increase of about one third. For specifics, see the BPU rule (PDF 20 KB).
