Hawaii Extends Tax Credit to Solar and Wind Energy Systems

October 03, 2003

Hawaii extended its income tax credit for solar and wind energy systems through 2007, just before they were set to expire in July. The credit for wind power systems will be 20% of installation costs, capped at $1,500 for residential systems, at $200 per unit for multifamily residential properties, and at $250,000 for commercial property. The credit for solar thermal and PV systems is 35%. For more information, see the Hawaii Strategic Industries Division's online explanation.
