New Jersey Commission Approves Green Power Pilot
The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved a contract for 200 megawatts for the state's new Green Power Pilot Program on February 28th. This represents the first time New Jersey consumers will have the option of choosing a green-power supplier as part of the Basic Generation Service that is transitioning to competitive electricity markets in the state. The green power offering will cost the same as the basic service and is enough to met the needs of 150,000 residential customers. The transaction was valued at $53 million.
