Michigan Capital Joins Clean Cities
The Greater Lansing Clean Cities Coalition (CC) became the newest (CC) coalition member on September 26. The coalition has been around for more than seven years, and about 135,000 gallons of non-petroleum alternative fuels are sold each year in the area.
Lansing can attest that joining Clean Cities is not a given. The group was successful on this, its third application after two unsuccessful attempts during the last several years. This time the coalition was able to demonstrate substantial local support for alternative fuels to allow it to succeed. For a list of coalition members and more on the inauguration, see the November 2003 issue of Clean Cities' Alternative Fuel News.
