Oregon Reports Progress on State Global Warming Goals
The state of Oregon is meeting its 2010 greenhouse gas emissions goals so far, according to a report released in September by the state's Oregon Global Warming Commission. The report to the state legislature also notes that it "appears" the state has established a downward trajectory for emissions, indicating emission levels will be reduced in the future. The biennial report states that despite encouraging present levels, challenges remain in making progress toward Oregon’s longer term goals to reduce greenhouse gas emission 10% below 1990 levels by 2020 and at least 75% below 1990 levels by 2050.
