SEP Special Projects

States receive project funding from technology programs in DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) for State Energy Program (SEP) Special Projects. EERE distributes the funding through a yearly competitive solicitation to state energy offices. Unlike DOE Formula Grants, which have general requirements, SEP Special Projects come with specific timetables for deliverables. State energy offices often partner with other organizations and contribute their own funds to make the most of DOE funding.

SEP publishes online descriptions of SEP Special Projects organized by state and by topic back to 2000. You can find descriptions of these projects organized by state or by EERE technology program that is providing the funding below. Or search for projects by state, year, and SEP topic in the SEP Special Projects database.
