Clean Cities East Bay Propane Infrastructure

SEP Special Project, California, 2005

The California Energy Commission and Delta Liquid Energy/CleanFuel USA (DLE/CFUSA) installed three DLE/CFUSA propane fueling sites in the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition (EBCCC). The locations are either self serve, EPOS actuated dispensers, installed at 24-hour publicly accessible gasoline retail locations or fleet fueling locations strategically located along the interstate at Conoco-Philips 76-branded gas stations. The dispensers are part of a nationwide propane fueling network known as CleanFUEL USA and accept all forms of card based purchases.

The customer base includes light-duty pickup trucks currently operated by the State of California, Department of General Services, California Department of Transportation, and the California Department of Water Resources. The State operates more than 1,600 Ford F-150 Bi-fuel propane-powered light duty trucks. This represents a potential base load of ~2.5-million gallons per year. This project provides greater fueling accessibility at a substantial fuel cost saving to consumers.
