Refueling Infrastructure for Arlington County, VA, CNG Bus Fleet

SEP Special Project, District of Columbia, 2003

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments' (COG) Alternative Fuels Clean Cities Partnership, in cooperation with the D.C. Energy Office, secured funding on behalf of Arlington County, Virginia, for the purchase and installation of one "Fast Fill" compressed natural gas (CNG) card-activated pumping station and 22 "Time Fill" CNG appliances at Arlington County's equipment/maintenance yard.

The CNG buses and cars fueled at this site will operate within the Arlington County boundaries. The fast fill station will be open to the surrounding government CNG fleets, via universal card readers, to help expand the CNG infrastructure in the Washington Metropolitan region.
