Investors Meet Innovators at SunShot Incubator Showcases
The Energy Department's SunShot Initiative, in partnership with the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE) and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), will host the SunShot Incubator Program East Coast Technology Showcase and Review on June 26 in Boston, Massachusetts. This first-of-its-kind event will introduce 20 current SunShot Incubator Program awardees to potential investors, business partners, policymakers, and customers in an effort to facilitate industry and investor awareness of this set of innovative and high-impact companies. The companies will give short pitches followed by a technology showcase and a networking event.
A West Coast SunShot Incubator Showcase held last week in Oakland, California, was attended by more than 100 venture and institutional investors, regulators, and solar installers.
The SunShot Incubator Program funds companies across the solar industry spectrum—from firms that create software and business solutions aimed at reducing solar balance of systems or “soft” costs to companies that manufacture photovoltaic and concentrating solar power devices and materials, power electronics, and innovative balance-of-systems hardware. Since 2007, the Incubator Program has invested $92 million in 54 startups, followed on by more than $1.7 billion in private-sector funds.
The East Coast Technology Showcase and Review will take place from 5–8 p.m. EST at Fraunhofer CSE, 5 Channel Center Street in Boston. For more details and to RSVP, please contact Samantha Shiffman.
