Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Bohigian to Lead U.S. Department of Commerce -sponsored Clean Energy Trade Mission 2008 to China and India, January 8 - 13, 2008

The U.S. Department of Commerce is recruiting a trade mission to China and India and will assist U.S. business interests with finding qualified business partners in the clean energy sectors of each country. This Clean Energy Trade Mission builds on the first U.S. Clean Energy Technologies Trade Mission, which took place in April 2007 and brought 17 U.S. companies to China and India.
Mission participants will meet with prescreened partners, agents, distributors, licensees, and retailers in the clean energy sectors. Participants will also engage in meetings with national and local government officials, networking sessions, one-on-one business meetings, site visits, and country briefings by experts.
China, the world's fastest growing major market, is targeting the development of clean energy technologies in its current Five Year Plan, due to rapidly increasing energy demand and the desire to expand the use of non-fossil fuels. Participants will visit Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
India, the world's fastest growing freemarket democracy, presents lucrative opportunities for U.S. companies due to a critical need for investment in clean energy. Participants will visit Kolkata and Bangalore.
The fee for the full mission is $3,500 per company, $1,500 for each additional company representative. To participate in only either the China or India portion of the Mission, the fee is $1,750 per person and $750 for each additional company representative.
