The Energy Department will present a live webinar on Tuesday, January 15, highlighting the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) Wind-to-Hydrogen project findings. The webinar will be offered from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and will focus on cost modeling of optimized central wind-based water electrolysis production. Through a recent project, NREL analyzed the cost of hydrogen production via wind-based water electrolysis at 42 potential sites in 11 states across the nation.

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Community Renewable Energy Deployment Successes: Developing PV Projects with RFPs and PPAs" on Tuesday, January 15, from 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The webinar will provide information on the experiences of the cities of Tucson, Arizona, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, as they developed photovoltaic projects using requests for proposals (RFPs) and power purchase agreements (PPA). January 7, 2012: Live Webcast on GREET Fleet Footprint Calculator

The Energy Department presented a webcast titled "GREET Fleet Footprint Calculator" on January 7. The webcast described the newest version of the Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Transportation (GREET) Fleet Footprint Calculator, a spreadsheet-based online tool that helps fleet managers calculate their vehicles' life-cycle petroleum use and greenhouse gas emissions. The tool is based on the GREET model developed by Argonne National Laboratory. Argonne's Andrew Burnham provided an overview of the tool and features available in the new version. He also gave a full walkthrough of the model, so download the calculator beforehand to follow along.
