Final Week for Entrepreneurs to Apply for the Energy Department's Longest Running Clean Energy Forum

July 18, 2012

This Friday, July 20, 2012 is the final deadline for renewable energy and energy efficiency technology small businesses to apply to present at the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) Industry Growth Forum, which will be held October 23-24, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. Every application received will be reviewed, scored, and given feedback by a selection committee of investors. Of these applications, 30 companies will be selected to present and compete for the Clean Energy Venture Award and commercialization services from NREL.

NREL's Industry Growth Forum offers an important venue for growing companies to prepare, refine, and present their businesses to a wide range of investors. Collectively, companies that have presented at the Forum since 2003 have raised more than $4 billion in growth financing from public and private sources.

Even if a company is not selected to present, the value gained through the application process includes:

  • exposure to more than 120 North American investors who have an opportunity to review each application
  • valuable and direct feedback from investor reviewers
  • reduced price registration to attend the Forum
  • the opportunity to see and learn from the investment pitches of other clean energy companies.
