DOE Webcast May 5: Renewable Energy: Planning Projects at Federal Facilities

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) will present a webcast on Renewable Energy on Thursday, May 5, 2011.
Presenters Andy Walker, Principle Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and Anne Crawley, Team Lead of FEMP's Renewable Energy Technology program, will walk through requirements and best practices for planning renewable energy projects at federal facilities. In specific, the presenters will discuss federal mandates, recent trends, and developments related to renewable energy; screening tools, services, and performance and cost calculators available for project planning; site evaluations for renewable energy systems; integration of renewable technology into existing systems and new construction; and options for purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).
FEMP encourages participants to e-mail or call in their questions before and during the program to receive tailored advice from the experts during the live "Q&A" segment. Questions submitted before the program can be sent to FTS@energyworkshops.org.
The 90-minute training is free of charge, but you must register in advance to obtain an Internet URL for the presentation. The broadcast will take place Thursday, May 5, 2011, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time and is titled, "FEMP First Thursday: Renewable Energy".
