DOE EnergySmart Schools Webcast May 25: Online Training Tool for EnergySmart Schools Operations and Maintenance
May 24, 2010
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) EnergySmart Schools program is offering a no-cost, live webcast on Tuesday, May 25 to introduce a new multimedia/online training tool based on the Guide to Operating and Maintaining EnergySmart Schools. The training tool—designed to help school facilities management staff develop a practical O&M strategy and put it into action—includes video recorded best practices from stakeholders across the high performance school industry, and allows users to explore a virtual high performance school and its energy efficiency O&M opportunities.
The webcast, co-sponsored by CEFPI and SchoolDude, will provide a walk-through of key features of the training tool, by function, and will include a panelist discussion on O&M best practices and thoughts about the training tool. Webcast presenters include Margo Appel, EnergySmart Schools Program Manager, Kristyn Ivey of Booz Allen Hamilton, and Roger Young of Roger Young & Associates. Featured panelists are Jason Turner of Onsite Energy Services, and Sue Pierce from Washington Elementary School District in Arizona.
Registration is free, but space is limited. More information is available at the EnergySmart Schools Web site.
