This webinar will highlight themes that arose during a related workshop, including discussions on monitoring near-field interactions between marine mammals and marine renewable energy converters, characterizing the distribution and habitat use of marine animals in the vicinity of the converters, and measuring sound produced by marine renewable energy converters. The National Geothermal Data System (NGDS) will serve as a platform for sharing consistent and reliable geothermal-relevant technical data with users of all types and supplying tools relevant for their work. Participants will engage in a live demo on how to use the NGDS and will learn how this content-rich data can support the discovery and development of commercial-scale geothermal energy production.

The Energy Department will present the next live webinar in our Tribal Renewable Energy Series titled "Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Market Updates" on Wednesday, January 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. During the webinar, technical experts from the Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory will provide insight into how the latest developments in renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies are competing in the marketplace and how Tribal communities can use them separately and in combination to benefit their members.

Multifamily housing presents tremendous opportunities for improving energy efficiency nationwide, but has been a perennially difficult sector to tackle. While in many cases multifamily work has fallen outside of the jurisdiction of state energy offices (SEOs), this webinar will discuss how SEOs can play a key role by partnering with entities like housing authorities, utilities, and private investors to enhance and support energy efficiency policies and programs in this sector.

December 16: International Hydrogen Infrastructure Challenges

The Energy Department presented a live webinar titled "International Hydrogen Infrastructure Challenges—NOW, DOE, and NEDO" on Monday, December 16. This webinar summarizes the international information exchange on hydrogen refueling infrastructure challenges and potential solutions to support the successful global commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. The information exchange took place in June 2013 at the German Ministry of Transport in Berlin. Workshop participants included topical experts from Germany, Japan, the United States, Scandinavia, and the European Commission.
