DOE Webinar February 23: High-Performance Rooftop Unit Specification Overview for Building Owners and Operators
February 17, 2011
The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Building Technologies Program is offering a Webinar on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Eastern titled "High-Performance Rooftop Unit Specification Overview for Building Owners and Operators." Register now to attend this free Webinar.
DOE worked with members of the Commercial Building Energy Alliances (CBEA), including Target and Walmart, to develop new performance criteria for high-performance rooftop units (RTUs). To achieve the best-in-class RTUs requested by industry partners, DOE is encouraging manufacturers to follow this new specification. Through these efforts DOE aims to facilitate market-based solutions to deploy high-efficiency RTUs which provide energy and financial savings to building owners.
Efficient RTUs built to the performance specification offer the following benefits:
- 50% to 60% energy savings compared to current equipment
- Automated performance monitoring
- Automated diagnostics and wireless communication.
This Webinar will provide an overview of the specification and how it will benefit building owners and operators. Learn more about the specification by reading the related news story.
Stakeholders include building owners, building operators, CBEA members, federal/state/local government employees, and manufacturers.
