DOE Updates Its Industrial Technologies Program Web site

The Industrial Technologies Program, one of 11 energy programs in the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), has produced an updated Web site that provides simple, intuitive access to information about the program. The Industrial Technologies Program partners with U.S. industry to improve industrial energy efficiency and environmental performance. Its primary research and development activities are divided into industry-specific activities aimed at the most energy-intensive industries, and crosscutting technologies that can benefit a large number of industries. The program also offers technical assistance to industries to help them save energy. The program's new Web site has an updated look and feel to reflect the look of the EERE Web site, and provides the latest news from the program. Among the newsworthy items currently on the site are new annual reports on the 12 Industrial Technology subprograms, a new report on opportunities to reduce energy use and emissions in the cement industry, and the results of two plant-wide energy assessments at steel mills, which found a potential for the two plants to save a total of $4 million in energy costs each year.
