Assistant Secretary Karsner Visits Iceland

July 30, 2007 - Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Alexander Karsner visited Iceland late last week. The visit included discussions on Iceland's hydrogen research and development, as well as the country's growing geothermal energy industry. While in Reykjavik, Assistant Secretary Karsner met with Minister of Industry Össur Skarphéðinsson to review opportunities for future renewable energy cooperation. Karsner also met with Iceland President Olafur Grimmson to discuss the countries' shared interests in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
