Karsner at Indy 500 to Promote Ethanol
May 25, 2007
After speaking at the Indy Ethanol Summit, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Alexander Karsner is highlighting the benefits of ethanol in achieving President Bush's Twenty in Ten Initiative at the Indianapolis 500. This initiative seeks to reduce gasoline usage by 20% in ten years and increase the use of renewable and alternative fuels. The audience and those involved in Indy Car Racing are witnessing the power of ethanol firsthand. For the first time in the race's history, all cars competing on Sunday, May 27 in the Indianapolis 500-Mile Car Race—better known as the Indy 500— will run on 100% ethanol.
