Assistant Secretary Karsner Testifies on Biofuels Legislation

Assistant Secretary Karsner appeared before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources to discuss current legislation and future biofuels production targets. Karsner outlined the President's 20 in 10 Initiative to reduce gasoline usage by 20% in the next decade and addressed legislation being considered by the committee. He also highlighted the research and development programs of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy as well as the coordinated planning efforts being undertaken across the federal government to promote use of alternative and renewable energy.
