Alexander Karsner, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, addressed Reuters' Global Biofuel Summit virtual conference earlier this month. Karsner highlighted the Department of Energy's Biomass Program and initiatives that are helping build biorefining capacity as well as end-use of biofuels. Reuters' reporters and Karsner also discussed the United States' progress toward the "30 x 30" goal of replacing 30% of present fuel needs with biofuels by 2030.
