DOE Hosts Aerodynamic Truck Demonstration

The Department of Energy hosted an aerodynamic truck demonstration on November 14. The truck designs are the result of DOE-funded research in cooperation with the Truck Manufacturers Association. Four trucks displayed aerodynamic designs for tractor trailer gap, trailer side, underside, and rear-view mirrors. When fully implemented, these design improvements will help reduce fuel use and potentially save hundreds of millions of gallons of fuel annually.
