The first ever Alliance to Save Energy lifetime achievement award was given to Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy's (EERE) own Mark Ginsberg for his tremendous contribution to energy efficiency over the course of his career. Ginsberg, who has been the State Energy Director in Arizona; Director of the Federal Energy Management Program; and manager of the Buildings Technologies program, currently serves as Senior Executive Board Member for the EERE Board of Directors. Ginsberg and the Board assist in directing EERE policy, strategies, and budgets and serve as "ambassadors" for EERE. As a senior executive advisor to the Assistant Secretary, his portfolio includes energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate change technologies. While the award recognizes a lifetime achievement, Ginsberg is far from finished promoting efficiency.
