100 Energy Saving Assessments and Counting
June 05, 2006
U.S. industrial manufacturers are working with the Department of Energy (DOE) to assess their facilities' systems to identify opportunities to use energy more efficiently and reduce the burden of high energy costs. To date, the DOE has performed 100 energy-saving assessments of industrial facilities. Initial results for the first 50 assessments have identified a total potential natural gas savings of 14.9 trillion Btu per year, which is roughly equivalent to the amount of natural gas consumed by 207,234 homes annually.
