Making "Alternative" Fuels Mainstream
May 24, 2006
It should be our common goal that biofuels, including E-85, become a nationwide fueling option. The Department of Energy will be relentless in pursuing all the possibilities of enhancing the rate of market penetration and availability of proven options for substituting clean burning, cost-effective renewable fuels for today's unsustainable gasoline dependency. At the Wal-Mart Alternative Fuels Network Meeting, Assistant Secretary Alexander Karsner will emphasize the idea that America has sufficient capacity and the necessary will to diversify away from foreign sources of energy with a substantial enough effort to make a real difference.
