Secretary Celebrates Boston as a Solar America City

BOSTON, MA — On April 9th, U.S. Secretary of Energy Samuel W. Bodman joined Mayor Thomas M. Menino to deliver remarks at Fenway Park, home of Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox. Secretary Bodman recognized the progress that the city of Boston and its partners have made in accelerating solar technology deployment and integration as one of DOE's Solar America Cities. He also highlighted the Bush Administration’s initiatives to increase the use of clean, renewable energy.

President Bush’s Solar America Initiative aims to diversify our nation’s energy resources by spurring widespread commercialization and deployment of clean solar energy technologies, which will help to provide long-term economic, environmental, and security benefits to our nation.
