The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Energy Department released the 2014 Fuel Economy Guide that provides consumers with a resource to identify and choose the most fuel efficient and low greenhouse gas emitting vehicles.
The U.S. Departments of Energy and Housing and Urban Development expanded the Better Buildings Challenge to multifamily housing such as apartments and condominiums.
The Energy Department awarded nearly $4 million to 13 states to increase statewide energy savings and boost the energy efficiency of public institutions, local governments, and industrial sectors.
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory released the 2012 Renewable Energy Data Book, reporting that renewable electricity sources represented 14% of total U.S. installed capacity and more than 12% of total U.S. electric generation in 2012.
